Term: 1 year (August 1 to July 31)
Appointed: Annually by the Board
General Description: The Awards Committee Director serves as chair of the Awards Committee. The Awards committee shall plan and manage the RMDA Awards Banquets. This position is not entitled to a vote.
Responsibilities:
Represent RMDA in a manner befitting a Board member.
Have full knowledge of RMDA rules and have said rules readily available.
Attend scheduled meetings:
Monthly Board meetings
Awards Committee meetings
General meetings
Awards banquets
Provide a monthly report to the Board:
Awards Committee Proposals
Status of Special Award distribution
Actively recruit Awards Committee members.
Work with the Awards Committee in all facets of planning and managing the Awards Banquets:
Work within approved budget to plan banquets
Present tentative banquet plans to Board for approval.
Work with President to ensure any necessary contracts are signed.
Ensure accuracy of award recipients’ information
Choose and order awards
Respond to communications appropriately and in a timely manner.
Represent players’ best interests while adhering to RMDA rules.
